Marvelous Announces Uppers For PS Vita

This week’s Famitsu reveals that Marvelous is working on a new beat ’em up action game called Uppers for the PS Vita.

Uppers is produced by Kenichiro Takaki (Senran Kagura series) with characters designed by Hiroaki and a scenario written by Yukinori Kitajima.

The beat ’em up is set on an isolated island where fighting has become the most popular entertainment form. Ranma Kamishiro is one of the game’s characters who has no experience in martial arts, but a physical and beast-like strength to threaten and fight others.

In Uppers, attacks will automatically change based on the enemy’s position and posture and combos will be unleashed by repeatedly mashing buttons. During the fights, girls will cheer the guys to heat them up and if you defeat an enemy in front of the girls, you will power up.

Uppers will be released for the PS Vita in Japan in spring 2016.
