Samurai Warriors 4: Empires is out today for the PS Vita, PS3 & PS4 in North America. While the PS Vita & PS3 version are available digital only, the PS4 version is also available as a retail release.

Samurai Warriors 4: Empires blends the best of the tactical action gameplay with an easy-to-learn, in-depth strategy system to create the most exciting installment in the Empires franchise yet. Regulate foreign affairs, and form political and military strategies with the new Castle feature, and personalize your character and castle with new customization options. Rise through the ranks to eventually rule the entire land.

Additional focus on historical episodes and the interplay between characters also serve to create a heightened sense of drama. ‘Genesis Mode,’ in which you can create your very own Warring States era, allows you more individual customization than ever before.

Engagements in Samurai Warriors 4: Empires follow the classic Empires style of ‘Base Battles.’ By conquering enemy bases and converting them to allied bases, players can establish supply lines that link strongholds together on the battlefield.

Players can also claim “chains” of enemy bases by cutting off enemy supply lines and isolating them, and an enemy base positioned in-between two allied bases will automatically be converted to the player’s side!
