Banshee’s Last Cry Remake Announced For PS Vita
Spike Chunsoft has announced a remake of the visual novel Banshee’s Last Cry (Kamaitachi no Yoru) for the PS Vita, revealed in this week’s Famitsu magazine.
Originally released by Chunsoft in 1994 for the Super Famicom, Banshee’s Last Cry is a visual novel that takes readers on a deadly thrill ride of murder and deception. Set in a snowed in hotel lodge during Christmas, vacationers find themselves caught up in a murderous “whodunit” game when someone winds up dead. Local legend tells of a banshee whose screams can rip through flesh, but, is the killer really a deadly monster or the work of a madman?
The remake will feature all of the original scenario including a newly written scenario by Ryukishi07 (Higurashi When They Cry’s). Alpha is doing the character designs who worked on Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shojo and G-Senjou no Maou. The visual novel is developed by 5pb. in cooperation with/supervised by Spike Chunsoft.
Banshee’s Last Cry will be released for the PS Vita in Japan on February 16, 2017. It will be available at retail for 6,800 yen and digitally for 6,000 yen (both plus tax).
