Utawarerumono Remake Announced For PS Vita & PS4

Aquaplus has announced a remake of the original Utawarerumono for PS Vita and PS4 in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu.

The remake of Utawarerumono: Chiriyuku Mono e no Komoriuta features all scenes enhanced in high-definition, battles fully set in 3D fields, a special extended mode with enhanced music, as well as the opening movie remade in high-resolution.

The game will be available in Japan on April 26, 2018 in the following editions:

  • Standard Edition for 6,800 yen
  • Premium Edition for 9,800 yen (includes an anime Blu-ray, a soundtrack CD and a visual book)
  • Trilogy Box for 12,000 yen
  • Aquaplus Limited Box for 29,800 yen

Famitsu also mentions that Aquaplus president Naoya Shimokawa is very interested in PlayStation VR but support for the Utawarerumon remake is unlikely. The remake was announced with the tagline “the starting point is now, to a new beginning” with various developments are planned beginning with this title.
